Two phase cooler with closed loop, SIPHOREX®
“SIPHOREX®” is two phase high performance air cooling solution, which has better performance than classical heat sink or heat pipe cooler. Working fluid is enclosed inside of brazed plate-fin heat exchanger and components are cooled by principal of thermo-siphon. This is a medium solution between liquid cooling and air cooling for electronic device cooling. It has cooling capacity similar to liquid cooling, and also simple system configuration like air cooling.
We have been supplying a great number of “SIPHOREX®” to power device cooling for trains and high powered inverters. Coming new generation of semiconductors, data processing capacity and heat dissipation are becoming larger, and high performance coolers are required. We have modified our existent technology of two phase thermosyphon, and developed high performance two phase cooler for CPUs/GPUs with compact design.
Structure
A two-phase thermo-siphon consists of a closed system, vacuumed and filled with a working fluid.The working principle of a two-phase closed thermo-siphon is shown in the picture on the below.

“SIPHOREX®” is low-height and flat, which can be housed with the motherboard in 1U server.

Evaporator and Condenser of “SIPHOREX®” are connected with just pipe (with no pump).It allows flexible layout design for the motherboard and CPU cooler.

Cold plate, with brazed corrugated fin
SPP’s cold plate is made by our own technology of plate-fin structure. Due to high density corrugated fins by press forming are brazed inside liquid passage, significant performance (i.e. low heat resistance) is achieved.

Benefit of our Cold plate
By SPP's cold plate, you can reduce your initial cost and maintenance cost within total system.
Due to high density corrugated fins by press forming are brazed inside liquid passage, comparing to extrusion or serpentine single channel type, lower heat resistance is achieved. (Rθ≦5 - 2K/kW)
If cold plate has higher thermal performance (i.e. low heat resistance), circulated fluid temperature can be higher. It makes easier to release heat to ambient, and it means your radiators, fans, chiller, etc. can be smaller.
